I clicked through and read that article and ...Okay. I clicked through and read that article and thought it was great that she mentioned the idiot from The Confederacy of Dunces because I *hated* that guy and so many people seemed to love him! But then... I kept reading and said, "Wait. Is she referring to her *own* books now? This seems weird..." (and kind of douche-y, to be honest). Then I read the comments and everyone else *also* said that! I don't know why it feels so weird, but it just does: "Here's a theory and now I will back it up with... my own work!" Wait... huh?

Regardless of all of that, The Post-Birthday World looks good and I cannot tolerate unlikeable characters. Flaws are fine, but if I cannot like them at *all*, we're going to have problems.

I have not read Devil in the White City -- do you recommend it?

Thanks for the audiobook tip on Angle of Repose. I am always looking for a new audiobook, although I still have not popped the magical bubble that 11/22/63 left me with. (I've been catching up on episodes of This American Life that I had neglected while engrossed in audiobooks!) But it's probably time.

Oh! Audible is having the 3 for 2 sale right now and Angle is one of the books on sale!

Okay. I just bought it. I also bought Anna Karenina because I have always wanted to read it and this audiobook version gets rave reviews. And to swing in a totally different direction, I grabbed REAMDE. Sooo... I am set for the next few months. Good, cause I have a lot of packing to do and audiobooks definitely help while doing menial tasks!

Huh. Looking at my library, I have listened to 11 audiobooks since I signed up 4 months ago. Sweet! I love the audiobook! Took me forever to find it, but now that I am here, I am IN.

Plus the 12 books I have/will (and I will, damnit. I WILL.) read for the TBR and 24 books I have read on the Kindle (thanks, Amazon, for making it easy to browse my reading history!) I guess I've read (or will, by the end of the year) 47 books this year. Not too bad (way more than I thought, actually) (Although... most of the Kindle stuff is garbage. I'll read any .99 YA supernatural romance out there, apparently...)

I need to start working on my 2012 TBR list! (Oh, and review October's book, finish November's, review it, and read and review December's. Easy-peasy, right? I've got both sitting in my TBR pile and I'm looking forward to both of them.brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01675075918762096305noreply@blogger.com
